Comical Psychosomatic Medicine (Manga de Wakaru Shinryōnaika)

Published by:

I wanted to check out some of the newer anime that is getting greenlit by the production committees and I came across this one. Comical Psychosomatic Medicine. This show is not a groundbreaking show by any means. It’s a short, gag comedy show about real issues that people have.

Doctor Ryo Shinnai and his nurse Asuna explain these conditions with comedic results, sometimes. Ryo is the straight man in all this, trying to explain these conditions while Asuna is the one who brings in the punchlines. She is joined by her sister and others in trying to deliver the funny. This is where the issues come in. The show is supposed to be funny, jokes with bad taste, etc. Some of the jokes just don’t make sense. Other times they’re right on the mark in terms of getting you to laugh. Continue reading

Ballad of a Shinigami (Shinigami no Baraddo)

Published by:

The Ballad of a Shinigami, also known as Momo – The Girl God of Death is a short anime series of 6 episodes which revolves around a shinagami named Momo. She’s not your usual shinigami that you’re used to seeing. Momo is a caring, peaceful shinigami instead of one who ushers people to their doom. Momo along with her smartmouth familar Daniel, shows people why they should live and what’s good about life, she also allows people to talk to the dead.

Each episode is about a different situation and different characters. Each character has their own personality and issue to deal with. From a little boy who loses his best friend to . Momo is there for them to deliver the message and see people off to the other side. This take on the shinigami is very different from those who are there to bring death. She even cries for the dead, since according to her, they can no longer cry for themselves. Continue reading

Military! (Miritari!)

Published by:

Military! is a 12 episode anime based around a trigger happy little girl who appears to be under 10 years old. Yet she happens to be a member of the Krakozhia Dukedom Special Forces and is a 1st Lieutenant on top of that. Her and her 2nd Lieutenant are tasked with the job of protecting a teenager named Souhei. They basically invade his house, protect him from assassins and blow up everything.

There really isn’t much to the show, it’s a harem comedy based around the military. Each episode is under 5 minutes long. Continue reading

Anime and Manga Thoughts

Published by:

I’ve been watching a lot more anime lately than I have in the past. Probably have one specific person to thank for that but it continued to be more than that when I started plotting out an anime show based around my game Astra Etherium. Now I have a potential anime if funding ever happens and a light novel based on the game, both of which are projects for later. Plus another light novel that I’m actually in the process of writing now.

There is a lot of anime out there, good, bad and ugly so I will be providing some of my thoughts on some of it also.

No-Rin (Nōrin)

Published by:

Yes, it’s an anime about farming. I’m dead serious.

No-Rin is an anime about farming but from a comedic standpoint with some ecchiness thrown in. Do you learn anything about farming? Maybe a little. The show starts out with a pop star who gives up the lifestyle which devastates Hata Kosaku, a student at an agricultural school. Little did he know that she would end up at that same school under a false name. Continue reading
