Bakuon!!

Published by:

After Rolling Girls I thought that all shows with girls and motorcycles would be hot garbage. Well Bakuon!! is here to try to steer it back in the right direction.

Bakoun!! is about a group of high school girls who became interested in motorcycles. Sakura Hane is a cheery airhead who is always climbing the hill with her bike until one day she meets Onsa Amano who’s riding a motorcycle. Sakura becomes an instant fan and her and Onsa join the motorcycle club at school. The show goes through the girls learning to ride, maintain and enjoy motorcycles. Follow along on their adventures. Daily Lives of High School Boys (Danshi Koukousei No Nichijou)

Published by:

Daily Lives of High School Boys is a bunch of skits pieced together to form an anime. There is no coherent storyline to follow, it’s just wholesome comedy fun.

The show follows Tadakuni and his 2 friends through everyday things…or is it school things at their all boys academy? They actually have a debate about this in the anime. They obliterate the 4th wall without mercy. They even talk about the guy who writes the manga. It has after school stuff, during school, little sisters, older sisters, bullies and all the things from those awkward years for most us. Continue reading

D-Frag! (Dīfuragu!)

Published by:

In the genre of school comedies you have some that focus on school and some that focus on the club side. D-Frag is one of the ones that take the club side and take it up a notch.

A “delinquent” named Kenji is forcibly recruited into the Games Club and I mean forcibly. When he joins the club he meets some awkward girls who are the other members of the club. Kenji is needed so that the club isn’t disbanded. The girls of the club all have some “element”. Water, fire, earth, etc. and they’re dead serious about them too. As the show goes on the club gets into battles with other clubs over some form of supremacy. The show is almost all comedy and battles so it’s always moving. Continue reading

Jiang Hao Yi, is a normal high school kid who stays out of trouble but soon he becomes the harem king of the school. He has all the most beautiful girls of the school confessing to him and he doesn’t even know these girls. With all the guys now after him because he’s taking all the girls, he ends up falling off the roof of the school when an angel/goddess/cupid comes to save him and she explains the situation that he finds himself in with the girls. He shared “cupid’s chocolate” with the girls (which he doesn’t remember) and now they’re in love with him and he must fulfill their dreams with him to break the “curse”. Continue reading

Love, Chunnibyou & Other Delusions! (Chuunibyou Demo Koi Ga Shitai)

Published by:

Love, Chunnibyou & Other Delusions! is a show that gets high marks from many people. It’s a romantic comedy with a heavy emphasis on the comedy side. If you know the quality that Kyoto Animation brings to the table then you know what you’re in for.

Season 1 brings us into the story where Yuuta who used to suffer from chunnibyou comes in contact with a girl who is going through it. Rikka is seen as an odd outcast that no one should be around but Yuuta ends up forming a contract with her. Yuuta’s new ordinary life is now going to be turned upside down by this event. While the families seem to be trying to pull them apart, Yuuta is committed to following through on his contract. This is only the beginning of Yuuta and Rikka’s adventures with an oddball cast of characters going along for the ride. Continue reading

Yuru Yuri San Hai (Season 3)

Published by:

Yuru Yuri’s 3rd season is really just more of the same. Cute girls doing cute things. The studio may have changed but the show is close to the same. This new studio kept the same quality of art, etc but they seemed to go with less humor and more ai. The relationships seemed to get closer but not full on making out or anything. Just girls and girls being girls together. I don’t want to go into a full on review/preview on this because there really is nothing to add. If you like the first 2 seasons then you’ll like this one too. If it’s not your thing then stay far far away, the sugary sweetness will make your teeth rot.

Gokujo: Gokurakuin Joshikōryō Monogatari (Extreme Woman. The Tales of Gokurakuin Girls School Dorm)

Published by:

The story of Gokujo is about the misadventures of Akabane Aya. She’s an cocky, self assured high school girl who is always trying to outdo everyone else in just about everything. The one thing she really overdoes it in is sex appeal, she thinks she’s like a gift from the heavens and she ends up making herself look like a fool in most cases. The school she attends is an all girl school so there is a lot of yuriness. Continue reading

K-On! (Keion!)

Published by:

K-On! is a show that has been on my list for a while but not by choice. It has been talked about a lot and I had to see why all the fuss. Whether positive or negative, it gets talked about a lot. Whether it’s because a lot of people think it’s a show about nothing or big eyebrows (Mugi does have some big ones). I’m not a fan of moe shows but if a show is quality then I’ll watch. This one was more for curiosity plus I’m a big fan of Kyoto’s projects. I even had someone ask me how I see my manga I’m writing and Kyoto was the answer. I’ll talk a little about Kyoto at a later date.

K-On! is about a group of girls who try to restart the light music club at their new school. The main focus is Yui, a carefree girl who signs up for club, not knowing what they do or how to play an instrument. The girls of the club are facing disbandment so they convince Yui to stay and the adventure begins. On top of going to school and homework, Yui has to learn to play an instrument ahead of the school festival. Continue reading

Dodge Battle High Characters

Published by:

I know I said I wanted to do a Kickstarter in November but work came and then laptop issues that stopped me from being able to write and on and on and on. But I do have someone on Deviantart who has been doing some character art for me. They may or may not be the final look of the characters but it’s something to go on. He also did the main character of my 2nd game Borne by Blood.

The main characters aren’t done yet though. I held off on them but these are a few of the other characters. I’m not going to give too much background info on them yet. I want to wait until closer to the Kickstarter. Aoi, Akihiro and Hoshiko aren’t done but I have an idea which way they’re going.

This is Kazue, Akihiro’s older sister.

These are Chideko and Yuno, a brother and sister who will play major roles in the beginning.

Technically this is Aoi but she’s getting a bit of a change.

These are Akihiro’s little twin brother and sister Akira and Akiko

There are some other random art pieces done by others on Deviantart too which I will post at a later date.
