Nanako-san Teki na Nichijou Dash!!

Published by:

I’m not even sure how I came across Nanako but started reading and it’s an okay little manga.

The premise seems to be about Kawara and Nanako and the “interesting” positions you find them in. Kawara is a boy who seems like your traditional “nice guy”. But he’s like every other teenager and seems to really like Nanako who is a shapely girl that doesn’t seem to be too bright. Could be wrong but there isn’t much academically with her. Kawara seems to always be trying to look up her skirt or ends up in positions where he can because she’s clumsy at times but then also tomboyish too where she’ll climb up somewhere without thinking about being in a skirt. Furumapura

Published by:

Furumapura is another manga by Cool Kyoushinsha. (Yes I like his work dammit)

It’s a simple 4 koma about high school girls who meet by chance. Kyou is a loud, overbearing kind of girl who seems to have an Irish accent or probably British since they love the Brits but it seems more Irish to me (at least that’s how the English version I read, made it seem). While Makoto is a quiet girl who uses signs to talk but it’s not with words. These signs are numbered 1-10 as if it was a rating system. Kyou has to figure out what the numbers mean and she pretty much carries the book since Makoto does not talk at all, just uses the signs. Continue reading

Daily Lives of High School Boys (Danshi Koukousei No Nichijou)

Published by:

Daily Lives of High School Boys is a bunch of skits pieced together to form an anime. There is no coherent storyline to follow, it’s just wholesome comedy fun.

The show follows Tadakuni and his 2 friends through everyday things…or is it school things at their all boys academy? They actually have a debate about this in the anime. They obliterate the 4th wall without mercy. They even talk about the guy who writes the manga. It has after school stuff, during school, little sisters, older sisters, bullies and all the things from those awkward years for most us. Continue reading

Gokujo: Gokurakuin Joshikōryō Monogatari (Extreme Woman. The Tales of Gokurakuin Girls School Dorm)

Published by:

The story of Gokujo is about the misadventures of Akabane Aya. She’s an cocky, self assured high school girl who is always trying to outdo everyone else in just about everything. The one thing she really overdoes it in is sex appeal, she thinks she’s like a gift from the heavens and she ends up making herself look like a fool in most cases. The school she attends is an all girl school so there is a lot of yuriness. Continue reading

K-On! (Keion!)

Published by:

K-On! is a show that has been on my list for a while but not by choice. It has been talked about a lot and I had to see why all the fuss. Whether positive or negative, it gets talked about a lot. Whether it’s because a lot of people think it’s a show about nothing or big eyebrows (Mugi does have some big ones). I’m not a fan of moe shows but if a show is quality then I’ll watch. This one was more for curiosity plus I’m a big fan of Kyoto’s projects. I even had someone ask me how I see my manga I’m writing and Kyoto was the answer. I’ll talk a little about Kyoto at a later date.

K-On! is about a group of girls who try to restart the light music club at their new school. The main focus is Yui, a carefree girl who signs up for club, not knowing what they do or how to play an instrument. The girls of the club are facing disbandment so they convince Yui to stay and the adventure begins. On top of going to school and homework, Yui has to learn to play an instrument ahead of the school festival. Continue reading

Dodge Battle High Characters

Published by:

I know I said I wanted to do a Kickstarter in November but work came and then laptop issues that stopped me from being able to write and on and on and on. But I do have someone on Deviantart who has been doing some character art for me. They may or may not be the final look of the characters but it’s something to go on. He also did the main character of my 2nd game Borne by Blood.

The main characters aren’t done yet though. I held off on them but these are a few of the other characters. I’m not going to give too much background info on them yet. I want to wait until closer to the Kickstarter. Aoi, Akihiro and Hoshiko aren’t done but I have an idea which way they’re going.

This is Kazue, Akihiro’s older sister.

These are Chideko and Yuno, a brother and sister who will play major roles in the beginning.

Technically this is Aoi but she’s getting a bit of a change.

These are Akihiro’s little twin brother and sister Akira and Akiko

There are some other random art pieces done by others on Deviantart too which I will post at a later date.

Aura: Koga Maryuin’s Last War (Aura: Maryūinkōga Saigo no Tatakai)

Published by:

A kid named Ichirou Satou used to call himself ‘Koga Maryuin’ and went around like he was a hero in a fantasy world. His actions caused him to get bullied and made him have to leave school. Some time has passed and he’s at a new school as a ‘normal’ boy but the past beckons him as he meets a girl who cosplays in a blue cape. She calls herself a researcher who is travelling from another world to search for something called the ‘Dragon Terminal’. This girl tries to recruit Ichirou to be her assistant.

Ichirou rejects her but she keeps pushing and he just can’t flat out tell her no even though he’s trying to escape his former self and be ‘normal’. He sees himself, in her and maybe that’s why he can’t completely say no. Then one day, at school, he sees her getting the same treatment that he did so he goes along with her requests. This leads them down a road that neither of them could have seen coming. Continue reading
