The summer started off hot but some shows took a dive. There are still some good ones though like Gangsta and GATE but you also have trash like Umaru. The list does contain a few spring continuations since they aren’t done or I was watching the dubs which are not done yet.
So here’s where I’m at and you can see just how much the list changed from my original post.
What I’m Still Watching Weekly
Dragon Ball Super though I’m still not used to the subbed version. Can’t wait until it’s dubbed.
Working!!! Who doesn’t like Working! It’s odd seeing them in these new relationship situations but you knew it was bound to happen.
Gangsta. It started off slow but has become my favorite of the summer season since it’s trajectory is up while most of the shows have dropped off. The dub on this one is good, especially since they have Ian Sinclair as the lead.
GATE, I didn’t know what to expect from GATE but it’s definitely staying on the list.
SHIMONETA: A Boring World Where the Concept of Dirty Jokes Doesn’t Exist. I only started watching this one because the name made it seem like it would be funny and unpredictable. This show is crude as hell and right now it’s more of a curiosity thing to see where this goes.
Rokka: Braves of the Six Flowers. Definitely watching this one to the end.
Ushio to Tora. I wanted to go watch the original but decided to just ride it out. Really liking this show so far.
Overlord. I didn’t know where Overlord was going to go at the start but I like the direction and Albedo is pretty funny.
Monster Girls/Monster Musume Miia in the first episode was so sweet so it felt like it was going to get boring but the introduction of the new characters keeps things lively, especially since Miia is the jealous type. Or maybe I just watch it to hear Miia say “Darling”.
Chaos Dragon, a lot of people don’t like this show for some reason. I do so I’ll keep watching but not as into it as I was at the beginning.
Prison School is like that car crash on the highway that even if you’re a mile past it, you still want to look back and see how bad the wreck was. I just want to see where it goes. I’m not really liking the dub though, the voices needed to be closer to what they have in the Japanese version.
The Disappearance of Nagato. Watching the dubs so I’m still not done.
Blood Blockade Battlefront. Watching the dubs. FUNIMATION WHERE THE HELL IS MY FINALE! For whatever reason the dub finale is taking forever.
World Trigger Still watching. Will be watching the new show in October too, which won’t be based off the manga.
Will Continue Watching Weekly (But I will be okay if I miss a week)
Dangaichi is one I left off my list before because it started late. It’s a short 3-4 minute show about a teenage boy who has to live with his 4 sisters. Nice little show.
School-Live!/Gakkou Gurashi! Kind of curious where they go with this. The moe factor is super high with this one but there’s zombies.
God Eater kind of a letdown but we’ll see where it’s going.
To LOVE Ru Darkness 2. Where’s my Lala? How do you have this show and almost no Lala. Same with Motto To Love Ru. Lack of Lala. I’ll keep watching to follow the story since I watched all the others right before watching this. More Lala. Give me my Lala dammit. Without her, the show just doesn’t seem the same.
Classroom Crisis okay show that I will keep watching.
Charlotte not sure what to think with this one right now. It’s not bad though.
Oku-sama ga Seito Kaichou! (My Wife Is the Student Council President!). It’s okay. Not great, not bad but it’s less than 10 minutes so I can keep watching this.
Actually I Am decent little show. I’ll keep following.
Sky Wizard’s Academy. Seems okay I guess. I like the dub on this one and might drop the sub and continue from the dub.
Robot Girls Z Plus, another short show. Only comes through once a month so not going to have to change my schedule for it or anything.
Snow White with Red Hair I find myself waiting and watching like 2 or 3 at a time.
Bikini Warriors. It’s a short show. Not going to break my pattern or anything. Some of the stuff is funny, others you’re sitting there thinking “damn they’re dumb.”
Seiyu’s Life okay show about voice acting. Too moe’d up though so probably watch in batches from now on.
Durarara x2 Still waiting for dubs since I started watching it as dubs.
Will Wait Until the Season Ends
Ranpo Kidan: Game of Laplace, when the show started I thought it would be good but they managed to kill it. They started trying to ram a full mystery into each episode
Himouto! Umaruchan I made the mistake of watching the first episode. When I start something, I usually watch to the end. The show got worse and worse as it went on. I understood Hestia-mania but why do people like this stupid hamster girl. If you want a cool otaku girl then watch Lucky Star, don’t watch this crap.
Rinne is still hot garbage but I’ll watch it all at the end since I’m like 12 episodes in.
My Love Story/Ore Monogatari. Was checking in weekly but it got kind of predictable so I’ll watch in mini marathons.
Food Wars/Shokugeki no Souma I keep trying to get away from this show but it keeps pulling me back in. I’ll watch it in mini marathons.
Aquarion Logos. Disappointing and not even going back to watch the previous seasons.
Castletown Dandelion eh…..
Aoharu x Kikanjuu (Aoharu x Machinegun). Just not my thing. Kept waiting for it to get better but it never did.
Gatchaman Crowds Insight. Just not feeling it. The first series was centered around Hajime and now she’s like a side character though it does seem like she may be the key to something.
Arslan Senki. Started off good but now that it’s slowed down, I can see the flaws. Will move it to batch watching or mini marathons.
Mikagura Gakuen Kumikyoku this show is just bad. I kept watching and hoping it got better but it didn’t. Watching the dubs.
Ultimate Otaku Teacher another bad spring continuation. Watching the dubs. It had potential but dropped like a lead balloon. Since I watched like 9 episodes, I’ll watch at the end so I can post my thoughts.
STILL Not watching
Junjou Romantica 3 Don’t watch yaoi. So no, not happening.
Ninja Slayer Debating if I’m going to watch it. Still looks like a Robot Chicken kind of show.
Non Non Biyori still doesn’t interest me and no one has convinced me to watch it.
