Charlotte (Shārotto)

Published by:

When I saw the name Charlotte on the summer anime list, I thought it was just going to be some cutesy moe anime (I avoid previews when I can unless it’s a second or third season). Charlotte was not even close to being a moe anime though the Yuu’s little sister is a really cute kid with big saucer eyes, then again, everyone had saucer eyes ESPECIALLY the girls. His little sister is like the epitome of moe with sugar and honey added.

Yuu is a model student with great grades and a bright future. Ok, maybe he’s not. He’s using a supernatural ability to take over bodies for 5 seconds at a time. He keeps using this ability over and over until one day he’s caught by the Hoshinoumi Academy student council head Nao Tomori. Nao Tomori forces Yuu to transfer to Hosihnoumi Academy where they can protect students with supernatural abilities. Yuu joins Nao on the student council and helps her to locate and secure other supernaturals. Continue reading

Big Order (Biggu Ōdā)

Published by:

Big Order was the first of the Spring 2016 season to end since it was only 10 episodes. At least the action kept moving so it wasn’t a show like Grimgar which seemed like it was going nowhere for the whole season.

The show is about a boy named Eiji who is blamed for the world destruction of the world 10 years earlier. Since Eiji is blamed for everything that has happened, everyone seems to be against him except his sister. Eiji has to try to survive in a world that wants him dead. Along the way he has to fight to stay alive and also keep his sister safe. Continue reading

Soul Eater (Sōru Ītā)

Published by:

Soul Eater is one that I kept pushing back for some reason. Not sure why since I’ve been on the lookout for longer animes. I am so tired of the 12-13 episode crap of recent times.

The show takes place at Death Weapon Meister Academy. The main characters are 3 students who are weapon meisters and they’re paired with weapons who can transform into humans with their own personalities. Their goal is to make their weapons into Death Scythes who are suitable to serve the headmaster. That headmaster is Death. To do this they must collect 99 souls and a witch in that order or they have to start over. Continue reading

Blood Lad (Buraddo Raddo)

Published by:

Blood Lad is one that I’ve been wanting to see for a while. No there wasn’t any special reason but the name was drawing me in. These days vampires are all sparkly and this one wasn’t so I thought I should check it out.

The show is about a slacker demon Staz who happens to be the head of one of the Demon World sections. He’s a closet otaku and keeps it from everyone but then one day a girl from he Human World ends up in his territory. This girl is the catalyst for the whole show. Without going into too much plot detail, this show is somewhat of a quest type show. You don’t have to wait long to get to the plot of the show, it’s laid out in the first episode. Continue reading

KonoSuba: God’s Blessing on This Wonderful World! (Kono Subarashii Sekai ni Shukufuku wo!)

Published by:

Konosuba is a show that I was going to pass on but I started watching. Was not impressed at first but the show kind of grows on you. And it seriously grew on Japan because it started getting the top rank in Japanese polls after a few weeks.

Satou is a hikikomori who’s life came to an end in a traffic accident. At least that’s what he thought but he woke up in front of a girl who called herself a goddess. She offers him the chance to go to another world but he can only take one thing with him. He couldn’t think of anything so he answered by saying he’d take HER. And so the journey begins, an adventure where the reborn Satou and the goddess must now slay the Demon King. Continue reading

Published by:

The show is about the Japanese Ministry of Defense and their anti-paranormal special forces called the Supernatural Disaster Prevention Office. They’re tasked with protecting Japan from supernatural and paranormal events. Of course there are missions that go awry and you’re dropped right into the middle of one from the beginning of the show. Choas; Head

Published by:

Those eyes, who’s are they…you may have heard this line before, that’s because Chaos;Head is in a line of shows that all use that line. Stein’s; Gate, Robotics’ Note and I’m sure Stein’s; Gate 0 and Chais; Child will use that line too.

Chaos; Head takes place in 2008 (yes it’s relevant to the 3 shows and where they fall in the timeline). Takumi is a high school student and an extreme otaku who is living in an unconventional way, in a shipping container with a 2D delusion from hs head as his main companion. One day he hears about murders known as “New Gen murders” but he dismisses it because it doesn’t concern him, or so he thought. He is mysteriously pulled into the center of the occurrences which he believes to be delusions but soon his delusions and reality clash and now he has to figure out what’s going on before his world comes to a halt. Continue reading

Mononoke Sharing

Published by:

Mononoke Sharing is another from the Cool Kyoushinsha. Yes I read through a lot of his stuff the past few days.

The main character Yata is very much like Kobayashi from Dragon Maid but since he made it, that kind of happens sometimes. It’s about a high school girl who has to find a place to live but she doesn’t have a lot of money. So she moves in with 5 big breasted yokai (that’s how Cool described it so I am too). Continue reading

Seraph of the End: Battle in Nagoya (Owari no Seraph: Nagoya Kessen-hen)

Published by:

Seraph of the End: Battle in Nagoya is the second season of Seraph of the End. Not too much changes here as it’s a continuation from the first season. A direct continuation.

If you remember the first season, the vampires came hard and fast after the Moon Demon Company but this time they’re bringing to war to the vampire’s doorstep. It’s pretty much a number of flashbacks, battles and more battles with some infighting too. There are also a lot of intersecting storylines with different people with different agendas so there is a bit of intrigue.

While I did like this season, it failed in several categories. Continue reading
